At the end of High School, it was time to think about what career field I wanted to go into. I grew up using a computer, and have always loved to use them to make something, so I decided to explore computer animation as my senior project.
The project was a music video of The Offspring’s "The Kids Aren't Alright", featuring the story of two kids growing up on a suburban street, screwing up somewhere in their teens, and ending up living broken lives (which follows the lyrics of the song). I originally intended for the video to be three minutes long, which was the length of the song, although I had never imagined that I would only have enough time to complete only one of those three minutes. After doing this project I can really appreciate the long hours of hard work that it must have taken to make the complex animations in movies such as Toy Story and A Bug's Life.
