EUROPA SCRIPT
SCENE 1
FADE IN: Shot
1 LS EXT- Europa Orbit - 2 sec
A starry backdrop is contrasted
to a satellite seen in orbit around a cold blue planet. There is
a warm yellow glow that hits it on the left side. Within the satellite
is a Capsule. The Capsule is ready to separate from the satellite.
Suddenly a large white cloud explodes from the satellite and the
Capsule embarks on its journey to the cold desolate world.
PAN: Shot 1 LS EXT - Europa Orbit - 2 sec
The satellite is shown to be in
the orbit of Europa and Jupiter pans in from the left. Satellite
beeps can be heard accompanied by a spacey chorus. The capsule is
barely visible and a scrambled sound of a man's voice can be heard.
PAN: Shot 1 LS EXT - Europa Orbit - 2 sec
The mammoth size of Jupiter is displayed
as the camera continues to pan to the left corner. The capsule has
now disappeared into this colorful panorama.
SCENE 2
FADE IN: Shot 1 LS EXT-
Europian Surface - 2sec
The Capsule's landing is soft due
to the surrounding balloons and parachute. Braces stabilize its
awkward position. When the craft has stabilized it releases from
the bottom a hot rod called the Cryobot. The Cryobot is powered
by the Capsule and is gently lowered down as the whole in the ice
becomes deeper. The Cryobot begins to give off a more intense red
glow and there is more steam coming from the ice. Slowly at first,
the device begins to sink, and steadily faster it descends. The
parachute gently flaps in the wind and a beacon light blinks off
and on with beeps.
The spacey chorus continues.
SCENE 3
FADE IN: Shot 1 MFS EXT-
Beneath Ice - 2 sec
Traveling nearly a half of mile
on its manmade path, it suddenly is engulfed by water as far as
the eye can see. Bubbles are given off in great multitude. The Cryobot
remains suspended from the roof of the ice via the tethered cable.
It reaches what appears to be a Europian ocean. A hatch is ejected
off the side of the Cryobot to reveal the Hydrobot. The main propulsion
fan starts and the main light of the Hydrobot slowly increases from
a dim to a blazing beam. It zooms off toward the camera blinding
it with its bright beam coming from the head as the sound of the
propellers drone off in the distance. A bubble trail can be seen
coming from the hatch. Heat and small bubbles come off the CB as
it continues to melt the ice.
SCENE 4
FADE IN: Shot 1 LS EXT-
Europian Seafloor - 2 sec
Time has passed and the HB has found
itself on a flat plane. It sees something of interest and begins
to slow down. The music changes from a relaxing tone to one of suspense.
In the background a faint glow can be seen behind a rock face. Unbeknownst
to the HB there is an alien presence behind it.
SCENE 5
CUT TO: Shot 1
MFS EXT- Europian Seafloor - 2 sec
The alien creature approaches the
HB from the rear cautiously. The light of the beacon on the HB is
flashing on and off. The light mesmerizes the alien. It seems to
the alien that it's a life form trying to communicate with it. The
creature seems to be a giant jellyfish at first but upon close inspection
one can see what seems to be a head. It glows at every corner of
almost every fluorescent color imaginable. It seems to have binocular
vision as the eyes are close together in the front of the face.
The creature gives an inquisitive look and it blinks, showing off
its transparent eyelids. It sits there staring at the craft.
CUT TO: Shot 2 CS EXT- Europian Seafloor - 1 sec
The light of the beacon reflects
heavily off the eyes of the creature. It seems amused by the light
and it blinks playfully. It's bioluminescence pulses throughout
as if it is thinking. The music shifts to a more energetic tone.
The scene cuts to a dollied back position where the rear of the
HB comes back into the scene.
CUT TO: Shot 3 MLS EXT- Europian
Seafloor - 7 sec
The alien tries to communicate with
the beacon by imitation. It gets excited and a wave of excitement
distorts his body. It then makes a ball shape and emits a beautiful
glow. It then closely examines the beacon once more for a response.
At the peak of its glow a humming chorus is heard. The alien waits
patiently for the beacon to go off. It blinks and the alien gets
really excited. As it begins to ball up, it stops quickly and
looks to its left. It puts its head down and the music dies out.
CUT TO: Shot 4 LS EXT- Europian Seafloor - 2 sec
The alien reluctantly swims away
leaving the HB behind. Its movements are slow and lacking in energy.
The scene cuts to the next scene. The music begins to pickup and
is more inspiring than the previous music.
SCENE 6
CUT TO: Shot 1
EXLS EXT- Europian City - 3 sec
The child joins his mother and they
swim off to the horizon. The camera follows and exposes what appears
to be a European city. At this moment the music hits its peak. Fade
out to fin.
