Growing up I enjoyed playing video games like Super Mario Bro., Metroid, and Zelda. I
knew that I wanted to make video games. I just did not know how to make it happen. It
was in 1998 that my cousin Mathias introduced me to programming. I studied and sought
out materials that would teach me how to program. It was through seemingly endless
hours of writing code, that I discovered how naturally programming came to me. I had a
need to learn more and to be able to do more.
Two of my greatest passions in life were programming and playing video games. So
when I opened Game Developer magazine in 2000 and discovered an article describing a
school for gamers, my choice was clear. I did not go to DigiPen Institute of Technology
directly, I instead decided to go to the local community college. This was my first college
experience and it proved to be successful. After a year and a half I submitted an
application to DigiPen, and was accepted to attend fall 2003.
It was upon receiving my acceptance letter that I asked my then girlfriend Laura to marry
me. We were married in July of 2003, and we both made the journey up north together as
husband and wife. During my three years at DigiPen I have faced challenges that seem
immeasurable at times. Yet I remain confident in my abilities and grateful for all that I
have learned. Time has passed and games have developed beyond anything I could have
imagined. I still have the same love for gaming, but now I have the experience needed to
make modern games.
I take pride in the code that I write. My belief is that you write code in order to create
an experience. I excel in my ability to write code that is solid and well designed.
I start from the ground up, laying a strong foundation to build from.
I enjoy working with diverse and interesting people.
People whom can give a different perspective to a problem.
I have enjoyed the time that I have spent at DigiPen.
Questions have been answered, that before seemed beyond comprehension.
I learned so much, and have grown as a person and as a programmer.
Now I am ready for the next step, the point I have worked for years to reach.
Feel free to look at the work that I have done.
On this website you will find my resume, as well as my portfolio.
