Units

Basic Units

These units can eventually upgrade into all other types of units, and also build all the buildings in the game.

Farmers

These guys harvest food for your army. They have slightly better damage than basic units, but you don't want to waste them in combat!

Medics

These guys heal your units. They are ideal for when you use really expensive units and can't afford to replace damaged units.

Footmen

Footmen are cheap melee units with good speed, hit points, armor, and damage.  They work very well with riflemen, as they can chase down most units that try to run away, and have the hit points to take some punishment from them.  They are the cheapest combat unit, so they can be churned out in large numbers early in the game.

Berserkers

Berserkers are super fast footmen with a faster attack rate, which increases their overall damage and makes them excellent for hit and run strikes.

Fissure

Fissures wield giant heat blades that deal huge amounts of damage but take a while to swing. They don't last very long in a fight, as fighting with the large blade makes hit-and-runs impossible, but whatever they hit, DIES.

Templar

Templars are masters of the arts of defense. While their heavy armor makes them extremely slow, it also makes them nearly impervious to attacks.  While this makes them excellent for taking on other melee units, they are extremely weak against riflemen, who can attack them from a distance, retreat, and continue.

Riflemen

Riflemen are unique due to their ability to attack from a distance.  This combined with excellent damage make an army that effectively uses riflemen a force to be reckoned with.  That said, riflemen have few hitpoints and are very slow, so without something to protect them from enemy footmen or cavalry, they don't last very long.

Pistoleers

Pistoleers fight with dual pistols, shortening their range but doubling their attack rate, making them much more flexible in hit-and-run strikes.

RPGrenadiers

RPGrenadiers attack with powerful grenade launchers that deal lots of damage.

Snipers

Snipers, though VERY slow moving, with a VERY slow rate of fire, have a huge range and deal huge amounts of damage.  If terrain or friendly units can prevent enemies from reaching the snipers, they will quickly decimate an army.

Cavalry

Cavalry are the fastest units in the game and are also the most expensive.  They have the highest upgrade cost of any basic combat unit, and consume twice as much food as any other unit.  They also only do a little more damage than a footman, and only have a little more hitpoints, making them extremely inefficient for direct, head-to-head fighting.  Where they really shine is in their ability to run right around defenders and attack enemy farmers or buildings, and then slip out again without taking any damage.

Attack Cycles

Attack cycles deal much greater amounts of damage than normal cavalry and are more capable of taking down enemy buildings.  They are also rather expensive.

ATV

ATV's are essentially souped up cavalry, and are superior in all stats except speed.

APC

APC's, or "Templar on wheels" are heavily armored transports that can take a lot of punishment.  Although not as fast as other cavalry, they are still much faster that footmen or riflemen.
